Congratulations, guys, you've gained yourselves a new fan. I really like this album. What a pleasent surprise. The songs were really catchy. There were lots of instruments and loudness. It rocked my socks off, really.
One of the first things that caught my attention by this album was the CD package design. It was really well done. I like it when bands spend a little bit of extra time and money on good package design. In an age where record labels are trying to get people to just download music off the internet, it's good to see groups that still put time and effort into their packaging. I'm giving you an extra cool point for that.
The music is the kind of stuff that you'd listen to when you're sitting in your room and trying to study - or forget about an ex-girlfriend. Or, maybe it's the kind of music you'd listen to when you're driving around town and some jackass cuts you off. You get all pissed off at first and then start signing the lyrics to these songs and you decide that you're going to get even with this rat bastard. You start creeping up to his bumper and turn your bright lights on (did I mention that this fantasy takes place at night?). You wait for just the right moment and you gracefully ram his bumper. As you do this, the car that you just hit was about to make a sharp left turn on a winding road up a hill - in the rain. The car suddenly loses control and runs through a guard rail. All you can see is the tail lights as it disappears down a steep cliff. You're driverside window is down and you hear the crash. You look in your rear-view mirror one last time to see the smoke quickly disappearing in the distance. Now, don't you feel better about yourself?
This is more of a rock album but it has a lot of production involved. It's the kind of music that I could enjoy listening to at a club. Very good job, guys. You've got 3 thumbs up from me.
