I like strange music. By STRANGE, I mean out-of-the-ordinary. This is some great boogie-folk-bluegrass-country-dark music. When I say DARK I mean, it just seems like there's something hidden in the songs. Some sort of darker tale that's not reaching the surface. By SURFACE I mean under the skin of the record. If you don't know what I mean by RECORD then I can't really help you anymore. Stop reading.

This album is one of the hundreds of CDs that come to our PO box to get reviewed. I try to hold on to albums like this for a month or so to really give it a good listen. I want to respect these guys before I review their music. It's really good.

Bands that come to mind which are in a similar category as SWEET TOOTHED SIMPLETON AND THE SIMPLE TONES would be the PINE HILL HAINTS, THE CRYPT KICKERS, THE CAN KICKERS, HOG SCRAPER, and JOHNATHON RICHMAN. If you like any (or all) of those bands, then this is definitely a band for you to check out.

This is the type of band that I think I'd have a great time seeing live. They feel like real musicians - not too over-produced, and not too crazy on more-than-one-takes on this album. So, I know what I like, and I like this band. Go get this album.

Visit their Myspace Page until the Real website is complete.
