CodeWhen I got this album to review, I had my reservations. Would I like it? Would I hate it? Would I listen to the entire thing? Would I tell anyone I secretly like it when I try to hold my admiration for this album deep inside my head? Well, the answers to those questions are:YES, NO, YES, and PROBABLY. These girls have got something going for them - even though they are in Los Angeles.

The title to this album is nothing. They must have forgotten to name it. That doesn't really matter. They were more interested in the songs. That was probably a better idea. Who needs album titles when you've got good music? The first half of the album sounds eerily like music I used to listen to back in the '90s. Bands like THE BREEDERS and DANCE HALL CRASHERS would be good examples - if you take out the ska or harder rock aspects of those two bands. Really, it's like I'm traveling back in time about 15 years ago when I hear their songs. I think back to when I was in middle and high school and actually paying attention to MTV and my friends. It's almost a peaceful time to think about.

My favorite songs on this album are DRIVING BLIND and MISERY - mostly because they are more upbeat than the others. What can I say? I like rock songs. They're good. Slow songs are good, too, but I would much prefer the harder stuff by female bands.

Seriously, you're probably gonna start hearing more from these girls. They've got a style to them that screams LISTEN TO ME. Guys, if you're looking for a CD to buy your girlfriend because you feel guilty about cheating on her last weekend at the house party where kids were doing kegstands and SPIN THE TAMPON, then buy her this album. It's sure to make things better for you. She'll think you're deep and appreciate music that she's into. Hell, maybe you won't even have to tell her about your new herpes. Wouldn't that be a relief?

So, in closing, if you like female fronted bands that still know how to rock like bands did back in the '90s, then buy this album. It's really catchy. It's also good for use as background music when trying to set the mood with a grown woman who needs to feel good about herself by sleeping with a kid 20 years younger than her. Oh Mona, where are you now?
