Wow, you guys missed the greatest movie at my house the other night. It's not like I invited any of you, actually. But, if you had some sort of reason to come over to my house at around 11:30PM the other night, I was watching THE SHAFT. It's about a killer... wait for it... wait for it... a killer ELEVATOR!!! Oh sweet Jesus in Heaven, not that!!!!!!!

So, a killer elevator? Is that even possible? Well, it is if you've wired up a whole elevator system with electronic chips that have artificial intelligence and resemble a heart. Oh, and Naomi Watts is in the film. She's always hot - but not normally in B-flicks like this kind. You'd have thought that she read the script and said NAHH, THIS ISN'T FOR ME, but I suppose everyone needs money every now and again.

Really, I'm not hating on this movie. I was actually entertained. It's not every day that a movie comes along with a plot such as this one. And, one of my top favorite actors was in it - Ron Perlman. It's always fun to see him in movies. He's a great guy.

So, anyways, back to the movie. Apparently in New York City, to be an elevator repair-man, you must have also been in the marines and seen some crazy shit during some war. That's just a given. And if you're a female reporter, apparently you can slip on come coveralls and everyone will be fooled that you are also an elevator repair-person. It's the whole Bugs Bunny syndrome. You can get away with anything as long as you're dressed right.

At times this movie seemed really long and boring. That was right near the end, actually. The beginning was off to a slow start, too. I was hoping for a quick plot, but this one seemed to drag on. Once the killing started, though, it was fantastic. Pregnant women, stupid children, security guards, and even a blind man get what's coming to them. I'm glad that a director such as Dick Maas isn't afraid of killing the handicapped.

So, in closing, check out this movie. If you want to laugh at a ridiculous plot and pseudo-crappy acting, then this is definately the movie for you. Also, if you're a guy and want to piss off your girlfriend, make her watch it, too. She'll stop speaking to you for days.
