Well, another week without receiving any good movies to review for you fine folks. I'm waiting for the day where our PO box will be filled with movies and demos of up-and-coming film stars - along with these damn CDs you keep submitting to us. Jason Ayres' album has been sitting in a pile of other music for the past few months now. I like to mix up our CD submissions together to let them all get along with each other for a bit before I review them. You never know, it could help the album out.
So, Jason Ayres hails from Australia. You'd never know it from his voice, though. He doesn't speak Australian. Nor does he speak any other language than American English. Good job, Jason. Two thumbs up for you. I wasn't sure if I was going to like this album because I have been burned by a lot of CDs that state up front THIS IS AN ACOUSTIC ALBUM FROM AN ARTIST YOU'VE NEVER HEARD OF AND WILL NOT BE TRAVELING TO YOUR CITY/TOWN EVER IN YOUR LIFE - SO YOU'LL NEVER SEE THEM IN CONCERT - NEVER EVER EVER! But, I was pleasantly surprised by this CD. The kids' got talent. I really like it. Kudos to you, Jason!
Look, if you don't like acoustic music, or people who speak English, then this album is not for you. Just don't waste your time. But, if you like those qualities in your music, and if you watch TV shows like THE OC, ONE TREE HILL, THE GILLMORE GIRLS, or GREY'S ANATOMY then you're really gonna like this album. Go ahead and buy it. Listen to it over and over again. And, if you're friends with Jason, tell him to get his butt over to America at some point. There's plenty of people over here that would like to hear him live.
Go ahead and check out his website.
