Right now I'm eating an ice cream cone while writing this review. There's nothing to say about this ice cream cone that should deter you from reading this review. It's a review about music, not ice cream. But, for those of you interested, it's a pretty good ice cream cone. So is the ice cream inside of this cone. You want some? Come on over and git ya some!

I'm really impressed by A. REX. I like their style. The first song, TOO SMART FOR ME is a great track. I feel like I'm listening to an experienced 90s pop rock group with their music. The truth of the matter is that A. REX is a 22 year old guy from Austin Texas named ANDREW ESPINOLA. Sure, he's got some help on a couple of these songs, but they're great songs!

As I'm getting older, I am finding that my musical preferences are expanding and getting more refined. This is not the type of music I would have listened to 10 years ago. This is a well produced album (though only 6 songs) beginning to end. I'm sorry to note that this CD has been sitting around for quite some time before I could actually listen to it and give it my undivided attention. Good albums usually take me longer to listen to. I want to enjoy them more than others. I guess I'm strange in that sense.

Out of the 6 songs on this CD, my favorites so far are TOO SMART FOR ME and FIGHT FOR YOU. The other songs are great, but these two stick out more. Look, this is a good album. Go out and buy it. Look at A. REX'S website. Support him. He's from Austin - that's gotta count for something, too, right??? Also, I'm really impressed by the fact that Andrew actually sent me a REAL photo with his submission package. There was no professionally produced super-crazy packaging or signed glam-shot here. It was a picture that could have been taken the night before he sent the package for all I know. I liked that. It was a good touch. Thanks buddy.
