This album showed up at the BIGGEST LETDOWN OFFICE a little while back, and it waited very patiently for a kind review. I suppose now is a great time for that review. I listened to this a few different times, but never was I in the right frame of mind to put my thoughts on his album. ARDEN OF EDEN is Mary Arden Collins. Her band is composed of Mark Gorman, Cameron Stone, and Dave Allen. I can definately close my eyes and hear these songs on the radio or on popular TV shows. It's very commercially produced. That's a good thing.
Arden of Eden's music is a combination on indie and pop. Most groups these days are. In my opinion, there's too many of these groups. They all get swallowed up in the Indie/Pop ocean out there that's flooding the airwaves. I like Arden of Eden, but it took me a while before I actually heard it, because of all of the indie/pop bands out there. Now, if she was horror rock/bluegrass, well then her music would stick out like a blue tomato.
On this album, there's a few songs that really stick out. Namely FREE, MAGIC CHILD, and ONE MORE DAY. Those are some catchy songs. Alright, I like this album. It's the kind of music you can listen to while your driving around town, getting your daily chores done. It's also an album you can listen to while doing your laundry. Do NOT listen to this album when you are hunting deer in the woods, though. They will get scared off and you will never catch them.
