So, after a year of no new photos, We now have a new photo shoot up of Crystal, the Page 73 girl. For those of you missing her, she's back. For those of you not missing her, she's back. This shoot was a lot different from the other shoots, and it was quite interesting doing what we did. Here's the back story to our night of photos...

Ok, so we all had been trying to combine a bunch of photoshoots one after another one night for the website, and this was the last one we were trying for. The concept was simple enough. I know of a dark, unused street where I wanted it to look like someone was going to pick up Crystal as a hitchhiker. This was not (and still doesn't look like it to me) to be any other type of photoshoot. Crystal is a hitchhiker, and she's getting picked up by a car to take her to some unknown location. That's the simple explanation to this shoot.

I had told Crystal before we were doing this shoot that the street would be a great backdrop and that no cars drive on it after 10pm. Anyways, while we were doing this, my camera ran out of batteries, slowing down the process of getting things taken care of. Then, I had a backup camera, that had just enough battery strength to get through enough photos to call this shoot complete. Even though this street is supposedly vacant 90% of the time, there was still some traffic (in the form of two cars) that we had to stop shooting until they were out of the shots. When my second camera's batteries died, Crystal was leaving the scene while I was walking back to my car (a short distance away). I noticed that a car was coming down the mountain toward us, and I got on the side of the road to let it pass me. It came up behind me and slowed down. I turned around to stare it down until it left when I suddenly realized that it was a police officer! Oh crap. The officer sees me looking at him, and he turns his lights on (as if I wouldn't know who he was). I explain that I'm holding a camera, and nothing else (just in case he thinks I've got a gun). He comes over to me and this is pretty much the conversation:

officer - HEY. WHAT WERE YOU DOING OUT HERE?
me -
NOTHING. I WAS TAKING SOME PHOTOS OF A FRIEND OF MINE. SHE JUST DROVE AWAY.
officer -TAKING PHOTOS, HUH? THAT'S ALL
me -YEAH, JUST SOME PHOTOS. WE FELT THAT THIS STREET WOULD BE DESERTED AND WE DIDN'T WANT TO GET IN ANYONE'S WAY.
officer - THEY WEREN'T naked PHOTOS, WERE THEY???
me -
Haha, NO, OFFICER. WHY WOULD I TAKE NAKED PHOTOS OUT HERE? THAT'S ILLEGAL.

So, then he proceeded to ask me about my camera and where I may have parked at. It was a crazy night. Since my camera batteries were dead, it's not like I could have proved my point, anyway. Crystal had successfully left the scene, but came back towards us right when the cop was letting me go. She called me, but I couldn't answer my phone because the cop was watching me to make sure I really was leaving. Since then, Crystal and I have been laughing about this whole experience. She keeps reminding me that I said THIS STREET IS EMPTY. Yeah, well, it was most of the time. Enjoy the photos.
