 I've been expanding my indie film collection over the past few weeks, and this movie - FEAR MAKERS - has come into my possession. This is a film by Timo Rose, who is a German/American filmmaker. I like his stuff, really. This movie is released by UNDER THE BED FILMS. You should check out their other stuff here.
The first thing that drew me into getting this title was the fact that Debbie Rochon was in it. She's a great actress that plays in tons of independent horror films. She's a scream queen like no other. Hot, hot, hot.
The plot to this movie was a little bit disappointing. So this girl Sarah (Debbie) goes to Germany because she's having visions of her murdered sister. She is some sort of psychic. Think about a low-budget Ghost Whisperer in Germany. I wasn't really buying into all of that. Now, there was a LOT of gore and blood. That was a definite saver for this movie. Also, there was just a touch of nudity. Again, that's cool. Blood and boobs are stables in horror films. You gotta have it. This movie is proof that low budget horror films are still interesting and captivating.
Be on the lookout for more films done by Timo Rose. He's got a style to him that rivals major studios. I like this stuff and I'll be reviewing more of his releases very soon. Keep up the good work, Germans!
