Folks, I'm not going to lie to you, this is an album that you NEED to own. If you're a fan of real country music (not that fake crap on the radio), or you like music that has real soul and songs with great stories intertwined into them, then this is the album for you. MIDNIGHT AT THE MOVIES is the second full-length album from Justin Townes Earle, and it's well-worth a listen. Every other music critic who's listened to this album has given it praise, and I'm doing the same. This album needs to win some awards. Go ahead, stimulate the economy and buy MIDNIGHT AT THE MOVIES.
I met Justin for the first time last year, and I had the pleasure of seeing him play live before that. He's the real deal when it comes to singer/songwriters. His dad is the great STEVE EARLE, but Justin has made a name for himself without having to bring his dad into the conversation.
Some of my favorite tracks on MIDNIGHT are Mama's Eyes, Dirty Rag, Black Eyed Suzy, Poor Fool, Someday I'll be Forgiven for This, Midnight at the Movies, and Walk Out. Really, this is the type of album you can listen to from beginning to end without getting bored. Each song is original and interesting. There are a lot of styles in this album and it really shows the diversity of Justin's music.
I constantly find myself singing these songs back to the stereo when I'm driving around town. If I had even a fraction of the talent that Justin pours out into this album, I wouldn't need a website called THE BIGGEST LETDOWN. Again, support this guy and buy his album. It's really that good.
Buy the album here or go to Target, Best Buy, etc...
