This movie was such a let-down. Originally I wasn't even going to review it, but then I decided that it was such a let-down that I needed to put some words up on this site about it. Don't watch Quarantine. I thought it was such a good premise, but it wasn't executed right. It had a great cast, too. What happened? Let's examine it:
Alright, so the idea behind the film is that a TV crew (reporter and cameraman) are following an L.A. fire department for the night shift to see what they do. Then, they get a call to go to an apartment building with police to check on some old lady who's screaming. Up until that part things are pretty believable. After that, though, things start going downhill. Maybe it's because I have the same job as the cameraman in this movie that I notice too many impossibilities.
I'm tired of horror films lately that haven't lived up to my expectations. It's no wonder that people are turning back to smaller independent film companies like Troma to bring the horror genre out of it's hiding place.
I think you all would do well to keep away from Quarantine. It's a waste of your valuable time. And in this economy, you need all the time you can get.
