CodeOne of the best films of the year. Folks, you NEED to see Crank 2 if you want a fun time at the movies. I really wish I could have reviewed this movie sooner, but things have prevented me from doing so. I had an idea going into the theater that I was about to witness something special, and this is the mother of all SPECIAL films!

Crank 2 is proof positive that if you have the ambition, you too can make a great film for very little budget. Apparently the writers/directors of this movie have a lot of friends in Hollywood. Maybe some people owe 'em money? In most circumstances, this is the type of movie to ruin a major actor-person's career (*Think back to DOOM GENERATION for a good example of this), but this movie takes itself so un-seriously that it forces you to enjoy it!

Ok, so here's the plot:
Chev Chelios (Jason Statham) faces a Chinese mobster who has stolen his nearly indestructible heart and replaced it with a battery-powered ticker that requires regular jolts of electricity to keep working. He spends all day killing robbing, screwing, and blowing things up until he gets it back. Oh, and pretty much nothing can kill him. It's like a super-hero for the new age.

Seeing actor-persons like Jason Statham, Amy Smart, David Carradine, and Dwight Yoakam (!) in this movie really impresses me. It's about as gritty as a film can be (American film, that is. The Japanese have been making movies like this for years) and it has these high-powered actor-persons involved!

If you see this movie, I promise you'll see some things that will shock you - but in a good way. In a HIGH VOLTAGE way! Go see this movie!
