I'm sure that most of you haven't heard of THE LAUGHING MAN yet, but this album is surprisingly good. It creeps up on you, pokes you in the side, and says HEY, LISTEN TO ME, DAMNIT! If you like THE MARS VOLTA, DAVID BOWIE, RED HOT CHILI PEPERS, and/or SUBLIME, then you're going be be happy with THE LAUGHING MAN.
The Laughing Man is a collaboration from two people, Micah Lashbrook and Marlin George. Every song is slightly different - from bouncy, rock-type songs to slower, more moody music. If you're into dub, funk, rock 'n roll, and ballads, then this is definitely for you. All in all, I really like this. It's a great album to jam out to.
The album was named after Micah's mother, who passed away recently. This a great tribute to her memory. Good job, fellas.
I expect to be hearing more from these guys in the future. Since this is the debut album, there should be some great things to come from THE LAUGHING MAN. Go out and purchase a copy of A PALACE FOR ALICE for yourselves.
