Tonight I had a weird moment. It was kind of like where you step back and look at your entire life and see what you may or may not have accomplished.

Recently, over the past month or two, I've been questioning my life. My existence. My job. My hobbies. Am I doing what I ought to be doing? Could I be doing something better? Do I really entertain people? Is what I do really REALLY worth it? I know this is kind of a downer subject, but a lot has happened to me recently that's made me take a good long look in the mirror. Up until about 15 minutes ago I didn't like what I saw. Maybe it's just tonight. Maybe it's been this whole day. What made me change my mind, though, and say "Yeah, it was worth every penny" was when my friend Eric (who was the subject of the film MY NAME IS ERIC) was saying good night to me and as he walked away called out "Thank you". That's all he said. That's all he had to say. A simple two words that made me feel good inside. I didn't ask him to say it, but he did. He's a real friend.

Having friends that care is what life is all about. No matter what sort of day you're having, they can really help. Sure, girlfriends and boyfriends and husbands and wives are good for you, but true friends are there through so much that it's hard to think of some way to repay them. I'm lucky to be surrounded by people that care about me. Maybe that's why I don't want to move to some bigger city or far away country. I don't want to leave behind people that I care about. To me, friends are the most important thing in the world. You can't try to argue with me on that. It's the way I feel. It's my belief. My opinion. I'll fight to the death on that subject.

I'm hoping that this website will create new friends among it's visitors. Maybe one day someone will say "Thank You" to you. I can only hope that you'll feel as good as I feel tonight.
