One of the greatest movie studios in America right now is Anchor Bay. They have been busy buying up all the older great independant horror films from around the world - just to release them to the public under their wing. Cemetery Man (or Dellamorte Dellamore) is probably the finest work from Italian director Michele Soavi. He was good friends with Dario Argento - if that tells you anything.
Of course, the people reading this review probably don't know anything about Italian horror flicks. They've never watched Opera, Susperia, or Tenebre. I'm sure they've never seen any film by Lucio Fulci. Basically, if you've never seen good Italian Horror from the 60s, 70s or 80s, then you've never seen good horror. But, Anchor Bay is trying to help you out. Right now in their catalogue of films, there are hundreds of horror masterpieces just waiting to be enjoyed by a brand new audience. Go ahead, give it a look.
So, what's so good about Cemetery Man, anyway? Well, let's see what's included in this movie: 1. Zombies 2. Necrophilia 3. Naked girls (non-zombies) 4. Blood, guts, ooze, slime. 5. Skulls 6. Rupert Everetts' ass. 7. Killing nuns. 8. Killing people for no reason. 9. comedy.
Really, that's all you can ask for in a good movie. It's the perfect recipe for a great time on a weekend. This is a movie not to be missed. I give it an A+, and I think everyone else will do the same once they see it. |
